September 7th, Saturday. The hot water bottles were wonderful, the bed comfy, we slept well.
In the breakfast area overlooking the shore, I had some tea and worked on postcards. Mary joined me a lttle later with coffee and her Kindle. When Chanda and Rick came down, we had a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast.
We were served by Gabrielle, also known as Gabby, who had spent a year as an exchange student in Dayton, Ohio. She reminisced with us about the wonders of Thanksgiving dinner with her big host family, plus a football game between Michigan and Ohio state.
The day started off gray and cloudy but became sunny as the day went on. We walked along the main street by the harbor and looked in the shops, had ice cream and crepes - a lovely day.
Fiona's cold is not much better, so she stayed in for dinner and had chicken soup and whiskey. Sounds better than Nyquil. Rod joined the four of us for a nice dinner at a restaurant called The Annex. We enjoyed Kalk Bay fettucini, lamb chops, wild mushroom risotto, sticky chicken and a seafood salad with prawns and calamari - with a very nice pinotage wine.
