Wandering Venice

Out into the cool morning, walking through the Rialto market near our pensione. Fresh fruit, vegetables and fish beautifully displayed.
Wandered on, down the narrow streets and alleys, sometimes finding a small bridge over a canal, sometimes a dead end. Sometimes joining a main route lined with all manner of shops selling clothes, jewelry, masks, glass items and much more. And lined with a goodly number of other tourists like us. Tourists amble, Venetians walk quickly.
Mixed in are men pushing carts loaded with everything the city needs, recently delivered to the docks at Rialto market. Not easy to manoeuvre in narrow streets, up and down stair step bridges.
Found the largest square, Campo San Palo, and took a moment to set in the sun for a while. In a city of water and stone streets, a square with two trees is unusual.
On to Frari Church, to see a amazing altarpiece by hometown boy Titian. Also works by Bellini and Donatello.
Tonight, wonderful seafood dinner finished off with biscotti and limoncello.
