We are making lists and ticking off items checked, sent, emailed, completed.
Also making last minute decisions on clothes as we check the weather forecasts. The goal of course, is to take as few things as possible and only the things we'll actually need, as we often take too much (even in a 22" suitcase) and just have to carry it around. Each trip is a refinement and because this one is such a major travel distance, plus about four weather zones, we're trying hard to plan carefully. Oy.
Finishing up Nelson Mandela's 'Long Walk to Freedom' autobiography, which is a fascinating (and detailed) recounting of the struggle against the increasing restrictions against Africans imposed by apartheid. And his many years in prison, during which his children grew from infants to adulthood. We are taking the tour of Robben Island.
And for a different take on the issues of separation and repression, we watched 'District 9.'
I will be GLUED to your blog, Will and Chanda! I hope you guys have a wonderful time. Much love! -Lexi
